So I've been looking into creating my own terrain. I've searched all around an finally found trees suitable and cheap. I've asked the red shirts how they make their terrain and they base theirs on some sort of board that they get at Home Depot so if it's cheap I'll probably get it.
I guess home depot also sells plywood in 8'x4' sections as a standard. I figure cut it into 2'x 4' sections and put hinges on them and I'll have myself a somewhat portable table. For grass on that table I can buy a mat from the hobby shop on grafton st where ian got his static grass.
That's also the place I bought 6 trees from for $1.85 each which is sweet since GW is $40 for a forest. They then recommended I check out Loomis and Toles for foam board which is sweet since they beat any other store by $2. They sell huge sheets for $4.85. It's so big that I made a bunker using 1/5 of the material.
Here are pics of the bunker. I haven't glued the door on yet but it's a hatch for a Rhino. I think I'll be adding a few more things to it, mostly vehicle related. I also plan to paint it eventually.
