Imperial Guard List and Pictures, Oh my!

Army List and Pictures

Following is a list of all the Units that I have under my command in my Imperial Guard Army:

6 Leman Russ Battle Tanks (One being a Demolisher)
3 Basilisks (One Unassembled)
3 Chimera's
1 Hellhound
87 Guardsmen
Breakdown:
  • 66 Basic Guard (Plus Sergents)
  • 15 Special Weapons (12 Grenade Launders, 2 Plasma, 1 Melta)
  • 6 Vox Casters
4 Officers
2 Commissars
1 HQ Squad (Consisting of a HSO, Meltagunner, Master-Voxman, Medic and Wounded Man)
12 Stormtroopers
6 Sentinels (One Unassembled)
10 Ratlings
20 Heavy Weapons (Three Unassembled)

I apologize for the ho-hum quality of the pictures, my Camera isn't the best. As well, I primed all my Tanks White this afternoon, so they are no longer Black, and all the Guardsmen that were unprimed in the pictures are now primed

Pictures

The Full Might of the Imperial Guard Force under my Command. I've named them the 27th Brimlock Dragoon Regiment, 412th Infantry Battalion under the command of Colonel Gerard Kralik

The Specialist Units of my Army, the Sentinels, Ratlings, Stormtroopers and HQ Squad all have their roles to play supporting the tanks and infantry

Tanks! The Grinding engines of war are the heart of my army, making up the largest portion (Proportionally) of the army. Although they may not be able to fly or teleport infantry, the mount the heaviest guns capable of obliterating the foe. After a significant portion of infantry are done, I intend to start on them

The Footsloggers, the Guardsmen of the Imperium aren't much more than a Bayonet with some guts behind it, but they make up the Imperiums most valuable asset, Manpower. Without them, the tanks would explode the minute the set foot on the battlefield, and the Specialists would be overwhelmed by enemy forces.

Oh God the Glare! (I will be taking another picture of them when they are properly based, until then you'll just have to use these)

More Introduction! (This is the end I promise)

Hello to whomever reads this (Although at this point it is likely just Mike and I)

I'm the counter-balance to this blog, although Mike hasn't done anything crazy with it, yet. My name is Ian and I'll be using this little writing space to keep me motivated in painting my army. Although I will claim that I do not compete with Mike, this is probably the reason this tactic works, I see the pictures of Mike's completed models and I want to finish more to one-up him.

I play Imperial Guard, just that, since if you play Guard you really don't need any other army...
Unless you want to win. In all seriousness though, I will be putting pictures up within the next couple of days with my army in all of its unfinished glory.

I also partake in the Xbox 360 where I Halo, Mass Effect and Dead Rising currently hold a place in my heart. I am also working my way towards a new computer for when school starts up again in the fall, on the computer I am an avid RTS fan, salivating over the awesome releases of Sins of a Solar Empire, Age of Empires III, Command and Conquer 3.

As you can tell if you've ventured this far in the post is that I'm quite long winded, this is why I believe I'm more of a counter balance, whereas Mike is short and to the point, I often go on and on and... Well you get the picture, I can only hope what I scroll down on these electronic pages is worth reading.

I've collected my Warhammer 40k Army is spurts, I was introduced last spring when I bought my first Basilisk, which was shortly followed by my own Battleforce. As an self-respecting Guard commander would do, I then proceeded to collect eleven other tanks and a pile of infantry, all of which need to be painted now. I enjoy playing the most, although I often find myself fulfilling the main guard objective, that being "Die to the last man".

In the future I will be posting Painting Updates, Battle Reports, and especially epic video games and board game match ups. For now, I can only say that after I long and arduous trek, I have finally gained summer employment. However, it doesn't start until June, so I have half a month to catch up to Mike in the painting scheme.

Soon to come: Pictures of the Guard!

Ian

Mike's Necrons-pics

Here is almost my entire army. The Nightbringer and Necron Lord are being assembled. The orange and blue warriors are second-hand.

Conception

Mike and I are co-writing this Blog as a way to motivate myself to paint my 40k army with more frequency than I do now. Although Mike doesn't believe that he needs more motivation, he accepted the invitation to write with me anyway.

Expect photo's posted later on the current state of Mike's Army, in relation to mine. I warn you know, it is not a very even comparison.
